On August 29 and 30, 2026, the small town of Peterson in southeastern Minnesota became a gathering place for thousands. Nearly 3,000 people came to the Meet Me in the Water Revival, held by Kayla Gabbard Ministry on farmland along the Root River, and 1,021 of them were baptized in the river over two days. A local woman who had prayed for a tent revival invited the ministry to her town. Worship filled a large white tent, and visitors traveled from other states and even other countries to take part. The ministry, which started with 54 people at its first revival in 2023, reports more than 28,000 baptisms since then.
Why it matters: one woman’s prayer for her small town became a riverbank where more than a thousand people publicly followed Jesus.
