Walking in the Light of God’s Word
Loving the Word #5 – Meditating Consistently on More and More of the Word Hidden in the Heart
“Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.” 2 Timothy 4:2
Each of us is called to speak of the transforming power of God’s Word.
Pause for a moment and reflect on a favorite Bible verse or a recent devotional time in the Word. How has this truth brought change in you? How has God’s Word brought more of Christ-likeness in you?
Pause to give thanks to God for this truth. Thank Him for how His truth is becoming real in you. Then ask Him: “Who might benefit from hearing me share this truth?” Is there someone at home, a friend, or colleague who needs to hear about the way God’s Word has changed you?
Think about some of the contexts in which you can express Jesus and His Word to others. Could there be someone in your daily activities and relationships that could benefit from knowing some of the ways God is at work in you? Is there someone in your community of relationships who could benefit from hearing how God is changing you and then experience how you relate to them in a different way? Ask the Lord to reveal this to you, listen for His answer, and then make plans to live out what He reveals.
“I have hidden Your Word in my heart that I might not sin against You.” Psalm 119:12
“May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.” Psalm 19:14
