In October 2021, 20-year-old Bible college student Gabe Poirot was riding an electric skateboard at nearly 30 miles per hour when it struck something in the road. He was thrown headfirst onto the pavement without a helmet and suffered a severe traumatic brain injury. As friends prayed over him, he says he was lifted out of his body and into the presence of Jesus. Back on earth, he spent 18 days in a medically induced coma while a worldwide community prayed. When a close family friend prayed over him and told him to wake up, he did. Within days he walked out of the hospital, and his surgeon called his full recovery nothing short of a miracle. Gabe now shares his story to remind people that their lives are not an accident and that God hears every prayer.
Why it matters: the prayers of a community carried one young man through the darkest days of his life.
Pinned to Fort Worth, Texas, where Gabe was a Bible college student and was treated after his accident.
