Stanford, CA: Catholic Converts Triple at Stanford

At Easter 2026, 46 students and young adults were fully received into the Catholic Church through the Catholic Community at Stanford: 16 were baptized, 10 were received into full communion, and 20 were confirmed. That is more than triple the year before, when 14 entered, and far above the roughly four adult baptisms a year the community averaged for three decades. Pastor Fr. Bart Hutcherson says many students first came through study of Scripture, church history, and the early Christian writers. This fall, about 600 students attended the opening Mass of the Holy Spirit.

Why it matters: on one of America’s most secular campuses, a growing number of students are finding their way to Jesus Christ.
